Dear all,  

More than six months have passed since we enthusiastically started the year with new projects for our clients. With sunny days returning to the Netherlands and stock markets digesting the first half-year results, we reflect on our highlights, successes, and lessons learned during the first half of 2023.

🤝 Acting as trusted communication advisor for public offerings

Over the course of the first six months of 2023, CFF Communications was appointed as communications advisor for three public offers. We advise a multinational telecommunications company on their offer for a Belgian services provider, which they have meanwhile successfully declared unconditional. In the Dutch market, we support digital business consultancy Ordina and Dutch sleep specialist Beter Bed Holding with their intended public to private transactions. The offer for Ordina by Sopra Steria was recently launched and shareholders can now tender their shares, while Beter Bed Holding and Torqx Capital Partners have just confirmed preparations are going according to plan.

As these processes move forward during the coming months, we will continue to work alongside our clients to explain what this means for all their stakeholders, such as investors, employees and the media.

🔋 Supporting Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power with roundtable on clean energy

The UN Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change indicates that we must quickly take concrete steps to reduce our CO2 emissions. All options must remain open for discussion, including nuclear energy.

In this context and on behalf of Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power (KHNP), we brought together all relevant sector players to discuss the Dutch energy supply. Representatives from the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate, the Authority for Nuclear Safety and Radiation Protection (ANVS), NRG, PALLAS and EPZ were among those who attended the roundtable meeting.

⛰️ Gilde Healthcare raises €600 million for healthcare innovation

In April, Gilde Healthcare announced a record-breaking €600 million fund raise to spur healthcare innovation in Europe and North America.

In interviews with Het Financieele Dagblad and several leading private equity and healthcare publications, Managing Partner Pieter van der Meer elaborated on Gilde Healthcare’s mission to invest in fast-growing companies that enable better care at lower costs. Through its broad strategy, covering digital health, MedTech and therapeutics, Gilde Healthcare selects cost-effective solutions and helps companies to further scale medical innovations.

👨‍👨‍👧‍👦 Introducing an Austrian bicycle brand for kids in the Netherlands

Can we launch a quality Austrian children’s bicycle brand in the Dutch market? Sure we can!

This spring, we supported Woom in expanding to the Netherlands and officially launching its Dutch webshop on the occasion of its 10th anniversary. We set up a campaign with about 30 influencers with follower bases ranging from 5,000 to 70,000 followers and an average engagement rate of at least 4.5%. Super excited to have helped Woom to increase its sales in the Netherlands and see more and more Woom kids bikes on our streets. 

🛠️ CNBB Equity Partners launches buy-and-build strategy with oamkb

CNBB Equity Partners announced its strategic partnership with oamkb, a leading Dutch financial adminstration growth platform. In an interview with Het Financieele Dagblad, Managing Partners Arco van Nieuwland and Lucas Brentjens discussed their perspective on the role that private equity can play in driving much needed innovation and rejuvenation of the financial adminstration sector.

Managing Partner Lucas Brentjens explains that “standardization and automation are necessary for the sector. It not only allows financial experts to focus more on advisory, it is also essential to attract new talent.”

💪 ‘Surprisingly strong adaption of electric vans in the Netherlands’

Our client Arval BNP Paribas Group conducted research on the adaptation of electric vans in the Netherlands. This segment seems to be lagging behind passenger cars.

However, things are moving faster than expected: 32 percent of Dutch companies are currently using or considering purchasing electric vans. They also think that in 2026 almost half (48 percent) of their van fleet will be electrified, 25 percent of which will be fully electric. With our tailored media approach we secured coverage in a wide range of trade publications.

🌱 Celebrating the BNP Paribas sustainability month

As part of BNP Paribas’ sustainability month, CFF Communications supported experts from BNP Paribas in transforming research and expert knowledge in engaging articles. We translated complex information in an appealing format that sparks conversations. One of the topics is the magnificent Dutch expertise on cycling infrastructure and how this evolved into a global export product. Another example is a fresh perspective on real estate, focussed on making existing office spaces healthier and more sustainable.

👋 Join us at the Euronext IPO Day in Warsaw

After a long history as partner of Euronext’s Techshare programme, we are proud to announce our partnership with Euronext’s IPO Day on 14 September 2023 in Warsaw. Together with our sister agency Citigate Dewe Rogerson we will brief listing candidates on the do’s and don’ts around IR communications, from the listing process to the life as a public company.
