CFF Communications – Behind the Scenes #7

As the year draws to a close, the time has come to reflect on the highlights of 2018. Read on for our overview with the latest news, events, client cases and the winner of our #merrylittlechristmas challenge.

See you in 2019!

CFF Communications preferred supplier of Dutch private equity association NVP

The NVP, Dutch Private Equity Association, has started a programme to encourage its Venture Capital members to communicate more about their activities and responsibilities as investors. CFF Communications has been selected as one of three partners to help and advise members about stakeholder engagement. So far, we have had several brainstorming sessions to identify opportunities and strategy for eligible Venture Capital members. With another, we advised on communication strategy for a new acquisition – a story that was picked up by Dutch financial daily Het Financieele Dagblad.

Evolving media intelligence with our new CFF News application

In the December period, we’ve organized two events to launch our CFF News application. CFF News directly streams relevant news into your internal platforms – informing, engaging and empowering your employees.

It’s powered by RSS technology, but it doesn’t randomly post news content on your internal platforms – the robot has been taken out of the equation. We have real people, analysts and editors, who understand what’s need to know for your internal audiences.

“RSS officially means Really Simple Syndication, but with CFF News it stands for Rich Smart and Secure, meaning that you don’t lose control over how external news impacts your employees. We keep you in the loop,” said CFF’s Head of Digital Pim te Bokkel, presenting the tool at a launch event with technology partner OrangeTrail and launching customer Jacobs Douwe Egberts.

Supporting Shurgard’s €2.04 billion Initial Global Offering

With the CDR teams in London and Brussels, we supported Shurgard on its successful €2.04 billion Initial Global Offering and listing on Euronext Brussels in October 2018. We supported the transaction with our media relations services for the Netherlands.

‘Human Capital as an investment consideration’

Together with our partner Allen & Overy, we organised the 9th edition of our annual What’s New? seminar in November. With guest speakers from BlackRock and NN Group, our Managing Director Uneke Dekkers discussed the attention that institutional investors are increasingly paying to non-financial factors. Focusing on human capital management, the speakers discussed the role that the war for talent plays as an investment consideration these days.

Research supports the claim that companies with a strong sustainability strategy and high ESG-rankings also perform better financially. Investors recognize this bottom-line aspect of non-financial performance and steer companies, through voting at AGMs and engagement with management, to identify and communicate a clear sense of purpose. A clear indication HR-directors may be a good addition to next year’s event!

Alpha Industries and Geneba Properties merged into Frasers Property Europe

’Longstanding client Geneba Properties joined forces with Alpha Industries to form Frasers Property Europe, the newly established European platform of Frasers Property, a Singapore-based real estate investor, developer and asset manager. M&A Magazine interviewed Frasers Property CEO Wulf Meinel and CFF’s Executive Director Geert Pielage on the most effective communications approach during complex mergers and acquisitions.

Aegon wins Christmas wish challenge 2018!

Did you receive our mini Christmas tree? To make the point that little things can make a big difference, we decided to send our business relations a small tree, with the opportunity of winning a full-grown Christmas tree, for the team or company with the best reaction to our Christmas wish on Instagram, Twitter or LinkedIn. The winning reaction came from Aegon, who posted their reaction in an Instagram post and story.

But they did not want to keep the tree for themselves. “We already have a lot of Christmas decoration in our HQ, so we decided to give it to someone in need.” Together with Aegon, we headed off to The Hague to make one person happy with Christmas snacks and a fully decorated Christmas tree.

Read more about this very Christmassy ending of our Christmas wish challenge on our Dutch blog. Thank you Aegon!

Enjoy the festive season and see you in 2019!

Warm wishes,

The CFF Communications team
